Task 1 – Newsletter Article
This is following on from what was started at the end of Term 1. Using the Narrative Planning Guides you started in Term 1, write a creative and engaging article about our STEM day or a previous outing. Use the other seven steps to help refine your writing and make it a success.
Here is a copy of Story Graph – Download a copy to help you start writing. You can edit the Pebble Rock Boulder Moments if you need to (depending on what activities you did on the day)
Activity 2 – NAIDOC Children’s Story
In the lead up to NAIDOC with events like Mabo Day and Reconciliation Week, you are going to develop your narrative writing skills further by learning how to write a Narrative story in the style of Indigenous Storytelling and explanation myths.
Here is an example of an explanation myth made for children. What do you notice about:
– The opening
– The background information
– The ‘event’s (problems or conflicting moments)
– The Climax (the big moment)
– The ending (how it ends after the big moment, how it all resolved)
These are the things you need to think about for your story.
Here is how the narrative plan would look for Why the Kookaburra laughs at dawn.
